Music is in her Soul

Marisa, Nashville raised but a Cali girl at heart, has been singing for as long as she can remember. Now at the age of 19, she’s living life and writing songs about all her experiences. Marisa first performed onstage at age 5, and she picked up the guitar at age 10.

Marisa plays gigs around downtown Nashville, and you can find her singing her heart out for those who listen. At 11, she began co-writing with some amazing writers in Nashville and attending open mic songwriter rounds at venues around town. She auditioned and was chosen to perform regularly at the Bluebird Cafe for the Sunday Songwriters Nights at age 12, and in January of 2020, was invited to host her own round for the Bluebird’s early show. She was invited at age 11 to take part in the Acoustic Guitar Project at the Country Music Hall of Fame and performed her original song in the famous Ford Theater.

By age 12, she had recorded her first EP, Colorful Girl, released 2/6/17. Also at 12, Marisa hosted her own songwriter's round, "Marisa and Friends" at Sopapilla's in Franklin TN for over a year and was the youngest to play with the Song Suffragettes at The Listening Room Cafe. In the spring of 2017 (age 12), she was chosen to be a contestant on America's Got Talent, Season 12. Marisa made it through to the middle rounds and got to perform twice on the big stage in front of Simon, Mel B, Heidi and Howie. You can find her performance on YouTube. In 2018, Marisa sang four songs on songwriter Ross Copperman’s project, “Homegrown Kids”, an album of Country Music’s biggest hits sung by kids. August 2019, Marisa released her second EP titled, “Demo Sessions I”, which are on all streaming platforms. In August of 2020, Marisa auditioned for season 4 of American Idol in front of Katy Perry, Luke Brian, and Lionel Richie, received a Golden Ticket, and made it up to the final elimination of Hollywood Week. In July 2021 Marisa released her most recent EP titled, “Demo Sessions 2”, which can be found on also be found on all streaming platforms. She released 4 singles in 2022, and 4 singles in 2023, which are on all streaming platforms, and 4 of the songs made Spotify’s editorial playlists. She is currently working on 2 music projects, while being enrolled at Belmont University in the Songwriting program.

Marisa is always on the lookout for new music and she puts no limit on the genres and styles of music that she enjoys. You’ll find songs by Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Kacey Musgraves, Colbie Caillat, John Mayer, Post Malone, Ruston Kelly, Charlie Puth, Zac Brown Band, Dan and Shay, The Script, Coldplay, Train, The Beatles, along with many many others on her playlists that she draws inspiration from.
